Hello everyone,
I hope everybody is doing okay,
My brother-in-law has been diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the larynx which we understand is a very rare type of cancer in this area.
Would really appreciate any information that anybody may be able to offer on this.
Thanks all
Hi Riri. I usually hang out in the head and neck cancer group. This one is very quiet. I've replied in case bumping the post up might let somebody new see it. I know there is a laryngeal cancer support group in the UK but for the life of me I can't find it. I'll tag a fellow Champ who is a laryngectomee. Perhaps he might know MikeO

Hi Riri,
I too was diagnosed with laryngeal adenocarcinoma and the surgeon and other doctors were completely baffled. They just could not understand how these cells got there. They said they were gynaecological cells in my larynx and lymph nodes. They behaved as if this was new to science, couldn't be explained, and they didn't know how to treat it with chemotherapy as there was no chemotherapy programme for such a thing. I did get treated with chemotherapy, but I was told it was a case of throwing everything at it as there was no precedent.
If anyone has any information on this, I'd like to hear it.

Maybe Adenocarcinomas of the larynx share bio markers with endometrial adenocarcinomas. Maybe that’s all it was?

Veron,
I hope you’re doing well. Delighted to say that my brother-in-laws experience has been positive.
Treatment was tough enough. Like yourself, they threw the book at him. 6 weeks daily radiotherapy with chemo every week. He finished treatment just before Christmas & the few weeks after that were tough but he had a clear scan in March & another last week. He also returned to work 2 weeks ago so life is very good at the moment, thankfully.
Wishing you well with your treatment. Stay positive, you’ll get there.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
