Hi just wondering if anyone can advise , I had a tumour removed from my left side of larynx and was told they thought that had got It all however I went under general again on Tuesday and was told when I came around they had found another tumour and removed it and sent for biopsy , has anyone else had this and if so what happens next ?
Good evening Lilpop, so sorry for this late reply but for some reason it has only just been drawn to my attention. Im afraid nothing is guaranteed with cancer operations as a lot of the time they do not know what they will discover until they do the operation. I have had a similar experience when they thought they had removed the tumour but 9 months later it came back. It took three attempts with me, but 90% of procedures are normally successful the first time around so it is just unfortunate that sometimes a second operation is required depending on your biopsy results. If it comes back as cancerous they will most probably try and remove it surgically followed by radiotherapy or chemo, or they might just opt for the radio and chemo. Hopefully, it will come back all clear and its just scar tissue or something just as simple. Once again im sorry for the late reply, all the best, take care.
