Is it normal to feel so much stress and anxiety while waiting to have your kidney removed, it’s only a couple of weeks to go, but I can’t believe how stressed it am, even though removal of my kidney should cure me.
Hi Wini
It's perfectly normal to feel stressed and anxious when waiting to have an operation but if it's affecting your daily life then you might want to speak to you GP for help and advice.
You might find this information from Macmillan on coping with anxiety and stress helpful. Ahead of any operations or treatment I've had I try to spend as much time as possible doing things that I enjoy so that I have less time to worry about the 'what ifs'. I know lots of people find mindfulness really helpful and, if this is something that interests you, clicking here will give you more information.
All the best with your operation
