Hello, I'm a 51-year-old woman, and this is my first post, but I've been reading this forum since my diagnosis of Kidney cancer in December 2024.
My partial nephrectomy was on 5th February and last week I've got the pathology result: StageT1a Chromophobe renal cell cancer. The tumor was 3,5x3 cm. When I asked the grade, my urologist told me that Chromophobe has no grade and a good prognosis, as it's less aggressive than others. It's quite difficult to understand why they don't classified it as a grade 1 or 2, if it is slow growing.
Every input and information about Chromophobe renal cell cancer will be very appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Hi Clarabella and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I didn't have this type of cancer, so can't share any experiences with you, but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.
Thank you very much for your reply. I hope that someone with the same type of cancer will add some infos about this rare type of kidney cancer.
