Hi, I had a radical nephrectomy last November and have recently been given a CT scan which showed I am clear of any spread etc , whist this is great news I'm really struggling with fatigue! Is this normal after 8 months, anyone had a similar experience?

  • Hi

That's great news that your recent CT has shown that there is no spread, but not so great that you're struggling with fatigue.

I don't have any experience with fatigue, but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. I've searched the group looking for previous posts about fatigue and came across this one which you might be interested to take a look at.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment to into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. • I'm 5 months and the fatigue is a killer I'm experiencing this to and I'm told it is normal and a nurse told me to buy iron  hope it improves for you

  • I sympothis as my op was end of Feb' and  had my ct scan and im clear and healing well but if I have lots going on in a week I am sooo tired its rediculous. I now dont have things on everyday so I can pace myself. I love my family but find the grandchildren still exhausting after just 2 hours. Take care it will improve im sure. I have friends who suffered from exstreem tiredness for ages so dont fret its just all the worry im sure. Kind regards Arny....

  • Hi Arney

Totally normal. I'm 17 months after and I would still suffer from fatigue. But I also work night shift which probably doesn't help matters and I'm not that fit even though I try my best. Hope this helps and hope your fatigue settles soon. Just go easy on yourself.
