Hi I’m a 51 year old lady with terminal renal cell carcinoma and have metastic  tumours in my duodenum , my stomach and lymph nodes and possibly my liver.

I had renal call 20 years ago and a radical nephrectomy. I’m on immunotherapy lenvatinib then start on pembro infusions in September.

I just can’t get my head round it, does anyone ever come to terms with this?

I want to much to enjoy retirement with my husband who’s only 54 and is retiring in 2 years.

I want to my daughters get married they are 25 and 27, I want to see hold and nurture my grandchildren.

im trying to be positive and live each day to the max by planning things on a bucket list, but it’s so hard to know how the treatment will effect me .

can anyone else relate to this? How are you coping ?

thank you for reading my babble.

xx

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that you have been diagnosed with incurable kidney cancer and it must be a difficult thing to come to terms with.

I can see that you've joined the living with incurable cancer group and I'm sure if you post there you'll connect with lots of people who will be happy to share how they are coping.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
