Hi, just starting this journey with my Dad who was diagnosed with a tumour on a solitary kidney. Plan was partial nephrectomy, but after a second CT scan it was discovered it had spread and very aggressive. It’s in Lymphnodes, internal vena cava, traveled up to the base of the liver. It’s at least stage 3 ccRCC. Treatment will be staring in a couple of weeks with a combination of nivolunab and Cabozantinib.
Hello, this must be hard for you seeing your dad receive his diagnosis….it’s lovely that he has a caring daughter.I wish you both all the very best. Some of the members have had really good results with treatment, so just try to stay positive and take each day as it comes. Big hugs Jules xx
Thank you! It’s really tough seeing how much of himself he has lost. The most different thing so far is trying to get him to eat, he just isn’t taking enough in and has lost about 3stone. We are really wore how well his body will cope with treatment given how weak he is all ready
