Diagnosed formally Thursday
Quite nasty joint pain and muscular pain, plus around the kidney area, lower back despite codeine and paracetamol.
Really struggling to sleep, I get between 1 and 4 hrs per night and usually awake from very early in the morning which is a difficult time to be alone with your thoughts.
I would suggest you speak to your GP and they may be able to prescribe something. I had shingles (on top of everything else) and 6 weeks later was suffering really bad headaches in the evening so was taking lots of pain killers. Saw GP who prescribed a low dose of Amatriptiline and to stop taking pain killers as they would work against the Amitriptoline. It took about a week for the Ami to start to work, but the best result was I have been sleeping through the night - after 5 months on Steroids and a grotty sleep pattern it is bliss to get 8 plus hours of sleep. I don't even need to get up to go for a wee!! Good luck and I hope they find something to help your current symptoms.
