Hello all, I may be jumping the gun here but I am a 42 year old woman and I had abdominal pain and Dr sent me to get ultrasound and regular CT scan as I have unseen blood in urine and kidney stone history. They called back saying all sorts of big words and said to go for another ultrasound as they had seen hypoattenuating areas on kidney and liver. I was confused but felt rushed and I of course googled hypoattenuating and have been scared since. I put a call back to drs to maybe discuss with me more as to what they are thinking it is but I need some insight. Has this word been used for any of your initial results of findings? Should I be concerned? 2 organs showing this scares me more as it sounds like it's something spreading to me. No one has called me back in 2 days and I called 4 times already and my ultrasound and follow up appointment arw next Monday the 27th . I just need to ease my mind!

Please help

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm not a member of this group but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be more easily seen.

I typed 'hypoattenuating' into the search bar in this group but no previous posts came up that had that word in them. Of course this doesn't mean that no one else has had this, they may just not have posted about it.

Waiting for tests is a really horrible time so you need to find something that works for you to distract yourself. Do you have any hobbies or interests you enjoy doing? All the best for Monday, and do come back and let us know how you get on.

  • Thank you for replying latchbrook it means alot to have a place to go even if it's unknown what's going on with me. Tomorrow morning is my ultrasound and then my drs appointment. I did call the drs back and asked for better explanation and they said lesions on both kidney and liver but they were unsure of what it is so im staying hopeful it is benign and nothing I have to worry about. But if it is cancer than I have my foot in the door here for support! I will certainly give an update once I know more! Also ever since i posted here and read more personal stories i have felt alot more at ease about it. Thank you
