Hi I had my first kidney cancer back in 2013 and the cure and treatment was to remove my left kidney and as it was contained in the kidney they removed the kidney and with no follow up treatment just regular check ups...all was good then covid hit and my check up for that year year was delayed 3 months so after 8 years clear my cancer was back but this time I'm not as lucky... this time it's back in my right kidney, the lymph nodes to my lungs and my pancreas and with no cure, but they can control it for a few short years...so now I'm 2 1/2 years into treatment and so far it's under control and at this moment in time I'm awaiting a date for my 6th monthly check up so everything crossed for it still being under control
Everything crossed for you! The treatments to control metastatic KC have advanced a lot in the last 10 years. I have mRCC too. There's the Living with incurable cancer forum - patients only as well if you want to talk about that element. I'm a member and just like this group, it's a great bunch of supportive folk. I hope you get a date soon.
