Hi everyone.
I got diagnosed 4 weeks ago and having my operation on monday. Its been a whirlwind.
Initially went for a ct scan on chest and lungs as my breathing had got bad. I just thought a change in weather had triggered my asthma. 2 days later dr called telling me they had found a lesion on my left kidney. Anyway another ct contrast scan and blood test where they had wrote RCC on the form.Straight to google as im sure we all have and I didnt know what to think!
Met with consultant who asked me what I knew! I said they told me it might be a cyst or cancer. He said well yes it is kidney cancer we think, weve had a meeting and you will have a robitic partial. Just like that! I felt like id been hit with a truck.
I dont feel or look ill and when people talk to me I feel a bit of a fake as they say well you dont look ill. I know they mean well and I try to explain that with rcc early stages you dont tend to get symptoms. Im feeling strong and positive for monday and hopefully tony the tumour will be gone done and dusted on monday.
This is a great feed and very informative.
Thanks for reading and hope you havent nodded off
