Hi everyone

Thank you for allowing me to join this group

i have recently been diagnosed with renal cancer and am waiting for surgery to remove my kidney also because my other kidney is not good I will have to go straight onto dialysis

I am really scared and feeling extremely anxious about everything

I feel terrible and vomiting all the time but have been told this could be gallstones and am waiting to get that sorted too

any advice would be appreciated

many thanks

  • Hello I love Portugal.,

Sorry to hear of the situation that you find yourself in. I can understand you feeling anxious. It sounds as though you have physical symptoms to  contend with too as well as the worry.

We are all in this group for various reasons and whilst we wouldn't want to be in this position can find comfort and support from other group members.

I don't really have any advice apart from just try to live each day at a time.

Do keep in touch and let us know how you getting on.

Sending you a hug, Jules x

  • i was in a similar situation in January this year when i was diagnosed with cancer in my right kidney and told that my kidney function level for both was 42 but should have been about 93.  i was warned that i could need dialysis after the surgery.  i was fortunate, the kidney was coping but the function level dropped to 30.

i have recovered well from my surgery and am seeing a kidney specialist on Friday to discuss the stage 3 chronic kidney disease.

i can only hope and pray that you have a similar result to me.

Hope all goes well for you.
