hi my name is mick

i was diagnosed in November 20/20 after months of telling doctors something was wrong after loosing weight and having a catheter fitted due to passing blood clot and getting water retention

finally forced a doctor to tell me he said i had kidney cancer

was due to have opp in jan but due to covid  it was cancelled,  finally had the operation in March this year

they went in through what they call the sun roof cut across my stomach from side to side just below the ribs

they removed my left kidney and renal gland and 3 lymph nodes

at home now recovering have good days and bad days

have trouble sleeping  as carnt lie to long on my sides or back so tend to sleep in the chair which I find better

hope you guys are okay

cheers

  • Hi Mick ,

Agree with the sleeping I've only been home from surgery over a week now and can't get comfortable in bed ,I had keyhole and open surgery like a c section on stomach to remove my right kidney , still healing early days here

Hope it's a good day all the best.

stay strong and we will get there

  • Hi Mick,

I didn't loose a lot of weight about 5kg then I didn't know there was anything wrong with me until I got kidney stone type pain then had a scan and found it wasn't stones but a large tumor ,just hoping the operation is the end of it got my follow up appointment in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for your time  all the best Ryan
