It’s all a bit of a whirlwind, no symptoms until Thursday night with a suspected urinary infection.  Into A and E on Saturday night, and after a CT scan they found a 10cm tumour on one kidney. Now waiting for a second scan next week to see if it has spread.

They suggested approx 4 weeks until surgery, sure it will be the longest 4 weeks of my life.

  • Hi

Welcome to the kidney cancer group.

You will find that once you have a treatment plan, the "scanxiety" will get better.

Kidney cancer's a slow grower compared with other cancers, so at 10cm you could literally have had it for years. ( Mine was 9cm n the urologist said I could have had it 5- 10 years. I've now been living with it for 16 years) There are many meds available too to help treat it/ keep it at bay with more being developed all the time

Do let us know how you get on with the next CT scan and also when you have an op date.

    Sue x
