Hello,
another group, another type of cancer; I’ve had a daughter with a refractory lymphoma and I’m still being treated with meds for breast cancer, now hubs has advanced kidney cancer but they haven’t yet managed to get a proper biopsy (two tries). We know it’s spread so it’s cancer; but he needed an oesophageal bypass as that got blocked. They biopsied at op, but nothing found. They biopsied just over a week ago and again no cells found. It’s a puzzle.
what is now keeping him in hospital is vacillating potassium levels , as surgically he is just ready for discharge.
has anyone got any ideas/words of wisdom that I can drop into the ears of the very helpful ward staff but all-but-invisible Urology staff? I’ve been informed he is now ‘in the system’ at Oxfords Churchill hospital which will be Professor Protheroe but our local Urology department seems sadly very short staffed.... and of course they still need a biopsy!!!
Hugs xxx
I gather he is on ‘Lokelma’ and is hopefully having another biopsy tomorrow, they have so far been unable to find any tissue to type! Had biopsy taken in the bypass surgery (on my request!!!!) and also a week later which just show dead tissue
any thoughts, lovely people?
Moomy
