Hi I had my left kidney removed 9 weeks ago due to chromophobe cancer. I have back pain, fatigue, and stomach aches. I am recovering slowly. I was in a great deal of pain 4 months before I had surgery on February 1st 2021. I lost a lot of weight and I'm trying to gain it back , and I only weigh 82 lb and I'm five foot two inches. I have scoliosis and in my back and was seeing a chiropractor and my last visit was December 2020. I do not want to get another adjustment till the end of May. I am not driving yet but I will have to go to the bank the last week in April. Can anyone tell me about the incidence of back pain related to a nephrectomy. I still have that adrenal gland. Thank you. PLS
Hello . Welcome to the kidney cancer group. Personally, I don't know much about chromophobe cancer but I know there are ppl in the group who do, so hopefully they'll come forward with more info, if needed.
I don't think your back pains necessarily to do with the nephrectomy but it might b worth mentioning to the oncologist or asking your cancer nurse specialist? They should b able to tell you if it's related or to do with your other health problems. It's also worth posing to ' ask s nurse" on the site here, tho allow a couple of days for them to answer as they're all volunteers.
Do let us know how you get on pls,
Sue
