I've been referred from Urology to Oncology following a CT scan. I cannot deny I am terrified. Finding it very difficult to stay calm when the hospitals seem to be so slow.

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community although I'm very sorry that you've had to find us.

I'm not sure from your post whether you've been diagnosed with kidney cancer or whether you are still undergoing tests. Either way I know from experience how frightening it can all be. You might find this article on how to ease worry when waiting for medical test results helpful.

Most people find that once they know what they're dealing with and have a treatment plan in place they feel a lot calmer and more in control.

This is a very friendly group and I'm sure everyone here will be willing to share their experiences with you if you have any questions that you want to ask.

  • Hi ,

Have you heard anything about your CT scan yet? Either when it is due or the results?

If a referral is made to oncology they have guidance on timelines but unfortunately some of these have slipped during the coronavirus.  They are trying to get back to them though so hopefully things are moving on fairly quickly.

Please let us know how you are getting on.

    All the best Gragon x

Fear of the unknown is the worst thing. Once we know what we're facing, we find the strength to deal with it.
