Hi everyone I’m 4 months on from full removal of kidney, the past 4/5 days I’ve had lower back pain where had operation. When sat up I get twinges and the odd sharp pain. I’ve took pain relief which hasn’t helped but today I have noticed it has taken the edge off. The hot water bottle has been my best friend this week I've had it glued to my back but the twinges are still there etc. I also have a slight pulling/tight sensation on my stomach where they did the keyhole, as in when you do too many sit ups and you get that pain. I know it will still be healing after all I have had a kidney removed haha, but the pain has started out of no where really, so I was just wondering is this still to be expected? Has anyone else had this ? Thanks
Hiya Violet....sorry ur having some after op discomfort. I was given a gentle massage leaflet to massage areas around the op because muscle is cut into and also needs to heal. The pain could be due to muscles that have healed tightly..or even nerves coming back to life..I am not a medical person. Lol
I feel drawn to muscle pain myself because u say a hot water bottle soothes it
I have fibromyalgia and ordinary pain meds don't help my muscle pain.
If u have concerns ring ur medical team. They are there for support and help.
Hope gives u food for thought.
Sending u love and hugs
