Hi. Had right kidney & tumour removed and left kidney partially removed. Am currently on Pembrolizumab & Levantinib, which I started last year. I often get horrible sweats even when it's cold & creatinine levels have been high & wondered if either the drugs or high creatinine has caused anyone else to have the sweats and if so, if anything they've tried has helped as they really are horrible & uncomfortable? Thanks.
Hi Hugh01 welcome to the forum and I am so very sorry to hear about what's been happening for you. I'm wondering as this is a very specific medical question if you may like to go to Ask an Expert on this site and post your query in Ask a Nurse. They won't be back in until Monday now but could maybe answer with some helpful and useful information..I don't have ability at this point to insert the Link for you To Ask A Nurse but it is Ask an Expert.
Yes, I had night sweats about 2-3 months after starting ipilimumab and nivolumab. I went to the GP because people on here said night sweats was common and I could get something to help. I got bloods done and then ended up visiting oncology. My liver function had fallen, and creatinine was increased because of too good a reaction to the immunotherapy. Too much inflammation in the kidney tubules so the kidney couldn;t do it's job properly. Steroids followed to calm things down and I restarted treatment about 6-8 weeks later. I still have impaired kidney function but it doesn't impact my daily life. Suggest you get in touch with your oncology team, for advice.

For me, the night sweats was what drove me to the GPs. I'm not sure that the rise in creatinine caused the sweats, but once the body was subject to the fix, the sweats stopped.
Thank you for your reply. Mine are actually sweats during the day rather than at night, on my face and upper body. My main cancer nurse mentioned the possibility of steroid injections so I will discuss it again when I see them next week.
I hope you're responding well to your treatment.
