Hi everyone, its been awhile from I was on. After my op in Feb of this year, everything seemed to be going well. Was still having niggly pains but now in the right-side as well. Keep having to get bloods repeated for liver function now too. Gallstones have been ruled out as I had a scan. Seems to be something else going on so now I'm referred to some clinic, can't remember the name. Head is wrecked. Not sure if this was caused by my cancer. Me and the hubby went away for a holiday just so I could chill out, disaster struck again, fell on first day, ligament damage in both ankles. Had to be pushed round in wheelchair the whole week. Thats, when all my emotions were let loose. Said to myself, why me?? So now I'm really emotional after thinking I was fine. Let's hope this liver thing isn't more bad news. Anyhoo, glad I got that out. Sorry to burden you all. Sometimes its hard to talk to family. Hope you're all doing well. Love to you all. xx
Hi Meloria,
Try to stay positive I have not experienced this liver problem but, I do know there are a few of the community that have so maybe someone else might be able to help you, I do have cancer in my liver but that was found when I had my routine three monthly scan, I have been put on different treatment now to shrink it in my kidney and liver a targeted treatment, but nothing showed in my bloods, I hope they are looking after you I am sending hugs and best wishes to you.
regards Sandy xx
Hi Sandy, I'm really sorry to hear you have cancer in your liver as well. I really hope all goes well with your treatment. It's a trying time for us all. I haven't had a scan since my surgery apart from the ultrasound to check for gallstones but they couldn't see anything. Hoping its just a case of me being over weight and needing a healthier lifestyle. I'm not due til February for my next cancer scan. Wishing you all the best and thank you for your reply. xx
Hi TranceW
I'm so sorry to hear your results. It's a very worrying time. I was supposed to be sent for a scan of my liver but it never happened. I had my big yearly check up a few weeks ago to check all is ok but they found what looks like a cyst on my left ovary. Everything else is fine even the liver, even if its function isn't top notch but its ok. Bloods for ovaries came back normal which is good, just waiting to hear what the consultant says.
I really hope your ok and you get well soon. x
Thanks Meloria. That's great that your liver is clear. Mine is the other way round. My liver function test is 100% perfect (just got the results last night), but there are 2 tiny tumours and one 11mm one. Still small so that's good. The most scary blood test is the AFP liver test, which i have not got back yet. This is the one that, with MRI can confirm cancer. Best of luck for your ovary cyst. We are, as my consultant just told me, lovingly referred to as 'VOMIT'. Victim-of-modern-imaging-technology. The anxiety imaging creates is severe isn't it. My best wishes x
Hi Meloria,
I love their term of the word Vomit I have not thought of that, I had my three monthly scan on Wednesday so I am waiting for results, I believe this is the worst time my oncologist is contacting me on March the 14th so I hope he has the results by than, I just worry and can’t think straight while I am waiting, I only hope everyone else is doing fine I think cancer seems to be a waiting game and everyone goes though the same, all we can do is think positively and hope for the best sending hugs and best wishes to everyone Sandy xx
