Just want to celebrate a bit. It is 12 weeks today since my radical. Carried out by the fantasic Mr Alanbuki and his amazing team at Princess Royal in Haywards Heath. The professionalism and compassion of all the staff in the urology department and the Ansty ward there are really outstanding. Touch wood everything seems to be healing perfectly. Fingers crossed for the future. Reading this forum has been a tremendous help so thankyou to everybody. Good luck and God bless.
My diagnosis was incidental to another serious disabling condition so I am not a good guide. I am also retired so I can take it easy and I have a fantastic wife and no other worries. My surgeon wondered if I was strong enough for the op but later the head anaesthetist gave the OK. The op was scheduled for two hours but took six hours in the end. My recovery in hospital was fine. Standard three nights to discharge. No problems. But the recovery at 12 weeks was fine for the op. Only problem is chronic fatigue. Not sure that helps. Best wishes.
