Hi folks Suffolkflyer here, back in hospital after my usual CT scan and prior blood test on 2/8 22. Been feeling absolute rubbish and legs losing all strength. Got an out of hours telephone call on 3/8/22  telling me l had an unusual liver function reading ?( deranged liver function after normal) and to contact my own DR.

Did that and at 1400 on 4/8/22 was told by DR  that l had been accepted as an in patient by Basildon  MEDICAL TEAM  and MEDICALLY ACCEPTED as in-patient.  Ha ha .

l turned up, letter in hand but had to take lotto ticket No 69 they were calling No40 !!!!. At 2100 l had to stage a dramatic collapse to bring attention to myself and got wheeled into see DR and admitted at 0200. 12hrs afer initial entry.

Since then moved ward 3 times. "Good" news, sort of , is that a DR saw gall stones in CT scan  of 2/8/22 and was pretty certain that "deranged liver" was caused by that. We'll see!

I suppose my main reason for starting this is to see if any one can share any similar experience. It has caused a great deal of anxiety which as we all know is not resuired on top of our conditions.

I have gone from a jokey type of person to deeply cynical and need some boosting from my friends in the Kidnry Can Forum. Wish me well, please. Adrian Sufgolkflyer

  • Really do wish you well-what a time you are having. I have had gall stones  -jolly painful but great improvement after gall bladder removed. This was long before my kidney cancer so the other way round. You are such a positive person keep strong and hope you get it sorted soon -all the best Lynsi (Lynsi red)

  • Oh dear Adrian, expect you feel as though you have been through the ringer! You don’t need this on top of everything else. As my late granny used to say ‘you need rubbing out and drawing again’.!Blush

We need you well and back in your caravan!  We are with you all the way.

Thinking of you our lovely friend.

Sending you a big hug Hugging Jules xx

  • Hi Adrian. I really do wish you well. It’s just one thing after another . My friends brother had gall stone surgery and he said it was very painful. I don’t wish to add any more stress or anxiety but I believe in forearmed etc is the way to go. I was in for 6 days and discharged on 29th july for diverticulitis so totally unrelated then  blow me down I fell on 2nd and 3rd august. I had outpatient on 4th August and consultant has taken me off all cancer drugs and infusions for a month and have been admitted again for treatment of large ulcer to my foot.

as I said earlier one thing after another. Let’s hope we both get some luck and end back near to our old selves. All I want is a game or two of table tennis and a sit on the beach which is a 10 minute walk from my house. Hugs from Cornwall xx
