Hello

Am new here.

I was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer late last month.  Am very worried even do I place my case in GOD hands. Am having a radical nephroureterectomy on the 7th of June.

I had no symptoms till it was to late,  I got a nasty UTI early February and went to he emergency room, they did an urine cytology and it was clean. but quickly after I fiscally saw blood when I urinate. My Urologist ordered a CT scan with contrast and notice the Kidney was not functioning  and order and renoscopy and he found the demon there  and draw liquid form it  and  it came back high-grade renal carcinoma. I never felt pain in my lower back back then, but now I am feelin slight pain.

Has this happened to anyone in this group and how is you road to recovery.

  • Sandra thank you so much for reaching out to me. Am at work right now to keep my mind off my problem, but every chance I get am on this platform reading what others like myself is going through. Believe me when I read how big some of these tumors are it is so scary.  Am from a small Island in the Caribbean and don't know half of the treatment names that is mention here, but am taking note and will ask about them when the time arise.

Thanks again for makin me feel welcome

  • Hi Porte, welcome to "The Club". Sandy's words are important, it's difficult but with as much information as you want you will get thro' this. Me???? well l continue to look at everything through "rose tinted glases". Take care and love from Adrian

  • Thank you so much for your welcome.

I was wondering who never smoke one day in their entire life and still ended up with this cancer? My Urologist told me this kind of tumor you find mostly in smokers.

  • Hi Porte.

    • welcome to our group and hopefully you will feel better knowing there are lots of us in the same boat. We try and stay positive and support each other. I know exactly how you feel about not smoking and still getting cancer. I first had a nephrectomy 17 years ago when I was 49. I don’t drink alcohol or smoke and was a healthy weight and regular gym goer, I also played table tennis regularly. There is no sense to it. After my op I recovered really well and have had 17 good quality years but it’s unfortunately returned. Have had surgery and radiotherapy. Was due to start infusions tomorrow but have an infection so being treated in hospital for that then try again. I really hope being on here helps you and wishing you all the best cx
  • Hi Gooner,
