Wednesday 26th January 2021 ....I have today received a terminal diagnosis. I'm 68 have numerous other health conditions which rule out surgery or chemotherapy. I was diagnosed with kidney cancer on 16th June 2020 I also have two large blood clots one on either lung which make breathing very difficult this as not improved at all even with blood thinners prescribed. I have been referred to my local hospice. I have been unable to have biopsies but it is also thought I have cancer of the womb, I feel in such a state of shock even though it is all very much as I expected.

  • Dear Susie,

I am new to this group and have not even properly filled out my profile. However I wanted to contact you to say I am so sorry to hear about what you have written.  Even if you half expected this it will still have been a shock to hear what you were being told.

It sounds as though you have a number of health issues that you have been trying to cope with which will have drained you.You will need time to come to terms with what you have been told.I am sure that the Macmillan information and on line groups will be a support to you. The hospice will be able to really help you.too. They will not only help you to get through this time but will help you live a better quality of life. They will treat you holistically looking at all of your needs collectively.

I wish you peace at this time and am sending you a big hug x Jules

  • Hi Sandy, just finished 8th Chemo. That's it. Got scan next week and Oncologist middle of Feb. So far so good. Feeling pretty good at present. Still exercising. Love to you.  Adrian

  • Hi Sandy and everyone x I am sorry to hear that yours was not good news too. It must have been difficult to receive that news. It's good to hear that you are trying to be positive but on the days that anyone isn't I am sure that there will be support from this group.

I noticed what Adrian had said ( hi Adrian) and realise that you must be the lady who sends the lovely positive messages, which is so lovely when you are going through such a challenging  time yourself.

Sending you all a hug x Jules

  • Thank you x that's lovely of you. I will fill out my profile over the weekend to explain what's happening with me. This just feels like a lovely safe space to speak to others which I really value. I will pray for you and Sandy x Hugs Jules
