Hi folks, just into my 8th cycle of Gem/Cis chemo for kidney cancer ( non-operable) Very very grateful to be getting it but feel absolutely wacked! I am having a 2nd scan in a couple of weeks ( first showed stable since July 2021 so hoping for similar. I wonder if anyone can give me a pointer as to further treatment so as l can discuss with my oncologist at Southend Hsp. All positive comments gratefully received. Please everyone keep safe. My love to you all. Adrian
Hi Adrian,
I am so pleased that your last scan was good, let’s hope the next is the same, I had my three monthly scan December 23rd I won’t get results until the 27th January I like you are hoping for the same stable, I have had a few problems for the last six weeks thankfully not Covid but, I know what you mean I am so tired all the time I seem to be resting so much, sorry I cannot tell you anything about other treatment as I have only been on two, I have been on Cabozantinnib for the last year, my oncologist makes the decision on my treatment as he sees what is working for me, stay safe Sandy
Thanks Sandy, always good to hear from you. I will let you and the community know treatment going forward. Keep safe. Adrian
Adrian that’s good to hear it is good to keep in touch with the community Sandy
Just so you know I've been on cabozantib 40mg for the last 2.5 years .
started on 60 mg managed 6 months + then reduced to the 40 mg.
Yes tired, sores, muscle problems on the left hand side arm , trigger finger (ISO drinks worked for me).
have a read on my page.
right kidney removed , at the beginning, there wasn't a lot left of it apparently.
multiple tumours . But , on the Cabo. They shrunk over 50%, Now waiting latest scan results next week (fingers crossed
So Adrian , you hang on in there, there is light at the end of the tunnel,
Sandra what strength are your pills 60- 40 - 20 ?
Hi cliff59,
I am so pleased that your Cabo is working well, I was on 20mg over a year now, but sadly it has stopped working for me I have a small tumour on my liver now, my oncologist is putting me on a new treatment a combination of two Lenvatinib and everolimus I have an appointment with my chemo team who will give me my first dose on the 22nd of February, will let you know how it goes. Sandy
Thank you Cliff59, sorry not to have responded sooner, you would have thought after 8 months that l would have got how to use the chat page. Still serm to miss stuff. Anyway, thanks for the info. Waiting for scan result and oncology appt nex week. Keep well. Adrian
