Hi everyone, l am on Cycle 5 of a 6 week Chemo cycle. My question and l know it probably depends on scan results ( gulp ) . I am on Gem/Cis for kidney cancer etc. Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what after treatment there could be. Only positive answers please as l am still using my rose tinted glassess to drink from my half full cup. Thanks
Hi Suffolkflyer
Having had a different type of cancer I can't share any experiences of kidney cancer treatment with you but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Replying to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be more easily seen.
I have found this information from Macmillan for you on treatment for kidney cancer which you might find helpful.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Dear Latchbrook, thankyou and l have now upgraded my profile. I suppose l kept it to a bare minimum originally as l was frightened in getting some awful predictions and messages of doom. My mistake. Thank you for you help and today is a good day. Suffolkflyer.
Great to hear you're having a good day today Suffolkflyer
Hi Suffolkflyer,
Are you on infusion or tablet treatment, I was on infusion now I am on tablets, my oncologist said that there lots of treatments now, I am waiting for my three monthly scan, I have been on this treatment for 16 months now, my last three scan have been stable so when I have my next scan I am hoping for the same results, how are you getting on with your treatment so far not to many side affects
Hi Sandra 55, l'm on infusion . To be honest l am a bit of scaredy-cat re oncologist. I know l've got to bite the bullet at my scan meeting in 24/11. You always give me a fillup when you contact me and thank you for that .
I think we are all the same I don’t think you are alone in being scared, I dread having scans, I worry like mad until results which can take ages to come, we all dread the consultation until they say everything is stable, than I can relax until the next blood test every four weeks and than the scan every three months, I think this community is great as there is always someone to help you as they have been through it, take care and I hope everything is good on your results.
Sandy
