Had my left kidney removed 11 month ago was uncomfortable for a while but over the last few month had severe back.pain  keep getting told its scar tissue has anyone else had same problem thanks

  • Hi Chester, I too have back pain and whilst it is jot severe I have trouble sitting or lying in the same position for any length of time.

At first I put it down to my stomach muscles being bruised as they move them out of the way to get to the kidneys and your back muscles have to compensate. Now I'm not to sure.

Had my naphractomy in November last year.

  • Thankyou for replying I've been told its scar tissue healing which can take couple of years been abit of a rollercoaster I just had bad shoulder luckily arthritis nurse noticed I had clubbed finger nails and was concerned had scan and got a letter saying I had tumour later had phone call to say it was on both my lungs went to Liverpool cancer centre and was told I was misinformed since last October all my scans have been fine until latest one now saying 2 things on remaining kidney so got to wait another 3 month for another scan fingers crossed its a cyst its the wait that gets me down and lack of communication between cancer team and my local gp  sorry for going on abit very frustrating waiting as both my parents died of cancer in there early 50s just have to carry on hey hope your good and good luck with everything

  • I had right kidney removed a year ago.still in pain right side of body also lower back pain.I thought it might be due to complications during surgery.I have problems sitting for any length of time also problems trying to get out of bed or turning during the night.I also have problems walking any distance.both arms seem to have little strength in them.

  • Hi Sylv,

Thought it was just me or the fact that I am carrying a few extra pounds. I cannot sit still in the same spot for long. Had a couple of hours driving last week and I almost seized up getting put of my car.

Thought I would feel normal by now. I am on a rampart trial and having immunetherapy so not sure if that is the cause if fatigue ir the fact that I am back working. I'm a publican so long hours.

Take care and wish you the best,

    Dandy
