Covid with one kidney and vaccines

 I had my left kidney removed on 30 December 2019 and my right kidney has cancer in it, so I have half  a kidney working I have had both my jabs of Astrazeca I am very careful so I don’t catch COVID-19 so I cannot say how it would be, maybe someone else on the community can say, welcome to the group if you don’t get your questions answered it might be a question you could ask the professionals, take care

I, too, only have one kidney, on chemo due to metastatis to my other adrenal gland,and had both doses of Astrazeneca. Nurses told me that, as I am still clinically vulnerable, to still be careful, but that some protection is better, and it would not make me as ill.

My oncologist said the same to me as I am on chemo, I was told to be careful as I would not have the same protection as everyone else but, some is better than none as I also have under active thyroids, diabetes and arthritis which affects my immune system and my spleen missing, so I am very careful where I go still wearing a mask when I am out near other people keep safe and take care

i had a kidney removed last year and have been double vaccinated with AZ. I know that in serious cases of Covid it can cause kidney damage so I have been very careful in where I go and who I see and always wear a mask. Best wishes to you.
