My husband 63 had to have a kidney function test a couple of weeks ago prior to an MRI to check out throat for reflux issues. They picked up that his egfr was 59 initially and the GP asked for a retest. 10 days later the result is 56. This is totally out of the blue. The Gp has requested to see him..it also sounds as though there maybe an electrolyte issue to as the surgery couldn’t release this information when requested. His blood pressure is ok and he’s not a diabetic. Can anyone help please?
Hi Ewok
I'm sorry to see that an issue has been picked up after your husband had a kidney function test a couple of weeks ago.
I'm not a member of this group, so can't help with your question, but I noticed that your post hadn't had any responses yet. This could be because no one in this group has experienced this or that the person who has hasn't seen your post yet. By replying to you it will 'bump' it back to the top of the page where it will be more easily noticed.
If you don't get any response you could post you question in ask a nurse and one of the specialist nurses will respond within 2 working days.

Hi ewok,
I gather the efgr is to do with the creatine levels, which I have checked before my CT and MRI scans because they inject.a dye as part of the scans. The usual level is meant to be 60 and above, which presumably is why it's been flagged up.
Definitely a good idea to " ask a nurse" as Latchbrook says.
