Both the Living with incurable cancer  n  the  Melanoma groups have recently started up a thread based  on the idea of listing 3 good things (at the end of ) each day. It's rather like the idea of using a gratitude journal, but is easier n quicker to do. It also focusses the  mind.

Mine for today -

  1. Realising a rainbow striped notebook I found in a charity shop the other day would make a fine gratitude journal
  2. Appreciating having a fan on a hot, sticky day
  3. Enjoying my" Breakfast scramble" wrap for lunch

    My 3 things today

    1. My brother called in for a brew and a chat

    2. Cooked a chicken dinner

    3. Entered my 3 good things early today because I'm going to be good tonight and read when I go to bed rather than play on my mobile lol

  • How lovely to have your brother near enough to call in for a brew n a chat. I have to settle for talking via WhatsApp n email to my family.

Tonight I actually got to page 29 of Dissolution by C J Sansom. First book Ive properly managed to settle down to read this year. Its a murder mystery set in 1537, the time of Henry v111. Looking forward to an early night with this book tomorrow Blush

  • U didn't upset me - it's my own fault for marrying a Southerner lol! My son's about 2 hours' drive away.

  • Sounds like a good un. Don't think I've read any C J Sansom tho am slowly working my way thru Susanna Gregory's Matthew Bartholomew series.

Xx Buttercup. I'm lucky that my boys are near. My sis-in-law has a son who lives in New Zealand. That must be very hard. At least theres t'internet now to be able to keep close. I remember the days when the only way was via airmail which used to take weeks Rolling eyes

Ive not heard of C J Sansom before this book, my sis -in-law, who came to stay over a couple of days ago, bought it in a charity shop here and left it for me to read when she went home. Will have to look into Susanna Gregory too Thumbsupx

    My 3 good things today...

    1. Had a phonecall from one of my sons to check up on me. He has a cold so thought it best not to come over.

    2. Spoke to my grandaughter (4) also has a cold, she told me she was eating raisins and apparently held them up to the phone to show me lol

    3. My grandsons footie team won 8-4 but he was sad he hadnt scored. I told him that even the best footballers in the whole world ever didnt score in every game, he seemed quite happy with that Blush

  • Loved your latest 3 things Ethelmay, especially 2 and 3, involving the grandkids- so cute!
