Hi all

been a while since I've posted but was hoping someone can clarify if these can be symptoms of kidney cancer.

Night sweats,  blood in urine, loss of bowel movements, difficulty urinating, painful when urinating, breathing problems with bloody scabs growing in back of throat causing sore throat difficulty breathing.  I also have heart failure so not sure if kidney cancer is aggravating that. Bouts of incredible tiredness, pain in right lung intermittent, bones aching all over and constant stomach issues and infections which I've been given antibiotics for on several occasions now.  I know some are but a few not sure of.  Does anyone one else have these issues in relation to their kidney cancer?

I'm going to push for a PET/CT scan as the cancer has grown into my renal sinus which from what I have read means high risk of spreading outside the kidney as although it's still classified as still within the kidney it's basically an open door for cells to spread not sure if anyone here has had similar kidney cancer in relation to renal sinus like to hear from you and what your prognosis has been if you don't mind talking about it.  It feels like the GP/Consultant don't think it's anything to be concerned about!!! like they don't want to discuss it.  Long story so won't get into that.

Basic history is heart failure means I'm high risk candidate for op as well as post operative complications.  So it's a bit of a dilemma really could have op not wake up could have op wake up then high percentage of post op complications including more damage to my heart etc.  So stuck at present.

Thanks for reading much appreciated.

  • Hi Baccarat,

    Hi,

Think u need to " ask an expert" re your long list of symptoms.

I only had blood in urine, pain when urinating n sometimes difficulty in urinating but  it's possible other folk may have had some of the other things?

An exoert should b able to put u straight.

My kidney cancer spread into the vena cava. See my profile for what it's done over the past 14 years. I've no idea what my prognosis is, I've never asked as I think it can be a self- fulfilling thing.

    Hope that helps

  • Btw, I had. these symptoms before having my kidney out. Not since

  • Hi ,

So sorry to hear that you are having such difficulties.  I have read your profile and you have certainly had a hard time of it since your diagnosis.  I'm afraid I have never had any symptoms of my kidney cancer so cannot say what might be caused by this but I have not heard of a lot of your symptoms described before on this forum.

Your treatment will obviously be complicated due to your complex medical situation and I don't know enough to suggest anything that might be done medically.  I don't know where you are being treated but have you considered asking for a second opinion at one of the major cancer hospitals?  You might also want to consider doing the same with your GP.  I have found that in any sphere of work it is possible to get into a routine where even a review does not let you think about things differently.  Sometimes a new perspective might be beneficial especially from someone who is fully up to date with all of the many advances that have been made in the treatment of kidney cancer.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Gragon x
