My husband despite having a fairly tricky time recovering from total nephrectomy op has now fully recovered some 3 months on. He has now been diagnosed with a small secondary in his right lung. The proposal from the oncologist with the approval of thoracic surgeon is to remove via keyhole surgery. Just wondered if anyone has gone through this procedure and what was the operation and recovery like. And would immunotherapy also be necessary post operative?
thanks in advance.
I had one of those after a nephrectomy it started to grow to 10 mm 8 years later, oncology put me on Suninitib tablets 1 year later it’s down to 3mm and stable
Thank you that’s very reassuring. I hope you are keeping well.
Hi, My husband started with Bladder Cancer about 12 years ago.
He had BCG treatment and followed by many Cystoscopies over the years.
In 2024 it was discovered that the cancer had travelled to his Kidney. He had his Kidney removed. Followed with
Chemo.
Now he has a secondary Lung cancer. One Nodule in each Lung.
He started Chemo and Immunotherapy a few weeks ago. He has had a reaction to , what we assume, the treatment.
He oesn't feel as though he wants to carry on with the treatment as he is so poorly.
If he stops, it is estimated he only has 1 year to live. If he keeps onwith the treatment, which goes on for two years, the
chances are he will only gain a few years of life. He is 72.
It is such a worry.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
