Hi,
I am experiencing constant dizziness. They think it is a side effect if nivo/ipo which has caused inner ear inflammation and so the dizziness.
I wondered if anyone else has experienced this?
Jackie
Hi Jackie.
I have suffered dizziness on and off for about 6 years. Sometimes it is really heavy. At other times it is milder and can hang around for a couple of weeks. This was before i was diagnosed with any cancer. Since being diagnosed and having a bladder tumour removed and a nephrectomy I have made an effort to drink more. Even when i don't feel thirsty. I have not been dizzy since.
I'm not saying for a moment that your dizziness is dehydration or lack of enough fluids. And probably is your treatment causing it. But do you think you drink enough water ? It is something you could try that is free and unharmful. I would drink more water for a while and see if it makes a difference.
Feeling dizzy a lot is horrible and very uncomfortable. I do hope you get to the bottom of it.
All the best ...Del.
I'm on ipi/nivo. I've had side effects caused by too much inflammation although not in the inner ear. First was in the kidney, oh the irony! The kidney function hasn't returned to its previous levels. Now we think I have it in the nasal passage which I can tolerate because the congestion comes and goes. I would very tentatively add that inflammation can be an indicator of a good response to these drugs (touch wood).
Hi mmum I get my biopsy next week on my kidney how long does it take for results also I’m anxious to what treatment they will give me. I’m more concerned about shadow on my lung as I heard lung cancer can be fatal, don’t know if I should stop reading google. Tjay
I got my biopsy results a week later at my first meeting with oncology. I am in Fife, and Lothian Region Scotland. I'd get a meeting with onco or urology scheduled if you don't already. My 2 appointments (biopsy + onco) were requested at the same time. They came through for the same day, so just rescheduled oncology for the week after.
I wouldn't put too much trust in the outcomes of lung cancer quoted. Too much sugar can be harmful to your heart. My RCC spread to my lungs but it's now undetectable. When I read google I look at the source and if it's from a cancer charity, or the gov, either here or US I would probably take onboard what is advised. When I come across sites that say cancer is inherited then I walk away (because it isn't). Or if they suggest you can cure it with diet. Or if I start to feel really overwhelmed and depressed with it, I stop. I don't really know what is meant by a "shadow" on a scan. My lung metastasis was white spots.
It's such a double edged sword. I am feeling really low right now and because of that i almost feel that the treatment isn't worth it..... my functioning is so bad right now.
But i am going to try to be positive and take one day at a time xx
