Hi there. We all get bloods taken regularly to check that our body can cope with the treatment being offered whether it's drugs, radiotherapy or surgery. But there are many blood tests and each has a "normal" range and thresholds for treatment/surgery. For example, seeing as we're on the kidney group, eGFR is the test for kidney function. Normal is >60 and if it falls beneath 40 it's unlikely that treatment will be approved. That's what happened to me. When this happens they give a drug to help the body recover. And then the treatment can normally resume once the bloods are OK again.
Low white blood cells are another show-stopper.
