Hi All, I was diagnosed on the 29th march 2022, i went to see my doctor on the 24th march to say i had severe pain on my right side, the pain had been coming and going, but the degree of pain was getting worse, I asked if it was possible to have a MRI, he said I was a bit paranoid as I had in the previous 2 yrs had an endoscopy and colonascopy, I said can you refer me private please, i know there is something wrong, so on the 29th march I had a private MRI, got a phone call that evening to say there was a 5inch tumour in side my left kidney and scaring and a cyst on my right kidney.
So after numerous scans I was told I would be having a complete kidney removal on the 12th June, well it went again to the multi discipline team, and they said my right kidney has 30% function and if anything happened in the future it was not sustainable. I'm in Ireland, I have a 96 Yr mum that has just had pneumonia, and my youngest sister is stage 4 breast cancer, and is on palitive care.
well now I have flipped !! Tuesday called my surgeons secretary, she then transfered me too the theatre liaisons, they said they are only doing May ops at the moment..... so I said I was diagnosed in march, well because my initial treatment was to have my left kidney removed. That was booked for June, then they found my right kidney would not sustain me, so I was sent to another surgeon in June for a Partial Nephrectomy which is very complicated as my tumour is in-between two major blood vessels
" only me hey " well they have now said it may and can be up to 6months ..... well I went bonkers and called Mr curry's secretary again I was sobbing, I said I have a sister in uk with stage 4 cancer that I would like to see before she dies, I would also like to see my poor mum and my children and grandchildren and family ..... she said she would call him ..... 10 minutes later I got a call from her saying Mr curry said go see your family be back in IRELAND for the 20th and he has booked me in for 25th September fingers crossed
Whooopppppp so I have booked a ferry and I arrive Tuesday xx l
