Hi, just wanted some feedback and I understand everyone is different and reacts differently but I just wondered if anyone had any feedback or experience with immunotherapy, my dad has stage 4 kidney cancer that has spread to his bone , node and lung it's not curable but they have offered this to see if they can give him longer..at the minute he isn't in any pain and is just tired and feels sick but he can get about and still do day 2 day things..I'm worried he will have treatment and go downhill and feel worse..not sure if living his last months would be better without it :(
Hi
had immunotheraphy but some time ago now.
Dont know if she can help?
Hi Lorna
i had immunotherapy and felt better on it than prior too. It shrunk some things and had no effect on others but stopped after 3 session as kidneys coouldnt cope but I would welcome the chance to have it again. Hope that helps

Hi Lorna. I, too, have stage 4 kidney cancer spread to lungs, lymph, bones... I had immunotherapy - Pembrolizumab + Axitinib and the first results were amazing - tumours shrinking by up to a third. I had no side effects from the immunothrapy but the Axitinib caused mucositis & hand/foot so I went down to the lowest dose. Sadly, at 9 months in, the treatment isn't working so I am looking at 2nd line treatment. Glad I was able to have the immunotherapy though. Hope it helps. Best wishes
hi thanks for the reply, my dads having Nivolumab and ipilimumab and then densumab his bones..he has just turned 75 and has always been fit , strong and healthy but has lost over 5 stone since feb lost all muscle mass.. just worried it going to make him worse, he doesnt want to end up in hospital with it he hates it..its good to hear good feedback that it can shrink them i have heard that a few times now so it does give me some hope so thank you.. im sorry to hear you have had to stop the treatment, i hope the 2nd treatment works for you, i wish you lots of good luck and good health x
hi , thank you for the reply.. i am hearing this allot which gives me some hope as he is allot weaker than usual at the moment and has just turned 75 im just worried that he wont be able to handle the side affects, last thing i want is him poorly when we are not sure how long he has, but we obviously want to try and fight it as much as possible.. its great to hear it shrunk for you and i hope you get the chance to try again , best wishes and good health to you x
