Hi,

I am now just over half way through ABVD, although they have now dropped the B as the lumps have responded well. I am only 42 (Only Joy) and was having regular monthly periods before treatment. When I asked the doctor if this was likely to put me into early menopause he said he didn't know. Has anyone else had experience with this?

Thanks

  • I know of people that this has happened to and also others who it reversed after treatment ended. Hey I’m a fella and both the lymphoma and then the ABVD did a number on my hormones/ internal theFace palmstat and I have hot flushes that put my wife to shame Face palm♂️

  • Thank you for letting me know that others have reversed. I know we all react differently and I will just have to wait an see. Feels like it's going on forever, I am soooo impatient.

  • Hi , let’s look for some of the female members to pick up on your post but as has been said this can reverse.

I always highlight the Lymphoma Action website. Lymphoma Action is a small but very active UK Lymphoma Specific Charity who have lots of good reliable information, videos and run regular Regional Lymphoma Online Support Groups where you can connect with a wider group of people.

  • Hi Mrsvvcmini

I had six cycles of AVBD and like you my periods completely stopped, it was always mentioned that there was a possibility of early menopause.

However although irregular my periods have returned, I am 32 years old and 10 weeks past my last treatment.

I completely understand how hard it is to be patient, we’ve went through so much and just want our lives back.
but like my mum always says..don’t worry until you have to, stay positive. You got this !
