Hi. I had a B cell, low grade, marginal, stage1/2 lymphoma in my lung, abnormality picked up on X-ray in September, diagnosed in November. It was measured at 8 cms and confined to my lung.

i had two low dose radiotherapies end Jan/early Feb and CT scan 3 weeks ago. I saw my haematologist on Wednesday and, I think due to masks, or brain fog, the penny has only just dropped as to his comments. Apparently it has reduced from 13cm to 7cm ! He mentioned 5 months and that passed me by, as clearly I’d forgotten the original size. So it had grown 5 cm very quickly.

Due to my age (79) we’re aiming for containment anyway as I want to remain fit enough to play tennis etc. He did say that the cells will still be shedding and what’s left is inactive. That much I did hear. I’m in partial remission. What my concern is that it’s turned into high grade although I’m sure that wasn’t mentioned.

i have bloods and a phone appointment in 6 months time. Im unable to contact anyone atm just to discuss.  Has anyone had such an issue? I’ve felt very fortunate so far but this has sort of knocked me off my perk !

Thanks

  • Hi again  I see you have also posted in the NHL group so it will reply more on that post.

Remember that Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (HL) although a Lymphoma is a rather different type of treatment journey compared to Non Hodgkin’s Lymphomas (NHL) but at the same time some of the treatment effects can be the same,
