Hoping for some more reassurance out there like I've had before. My son is on cycle 5 of AAVD for Hodgkins Lymphoma Stage 4. He had a complete metabolic response and Deauville 2 after cycle 2 but was hospitalised with infections after both infusions on day 1 and 15 of Cycle 4. They were supposed to delay Cycle 5 by a week but the hospital messed up and didn't rebook so it's now 12 day delay and almost 4 weeks since his last dose. His neutriphils have come back on his blood test as 0.7 today so I don't think they will go ahead with chemo tomorrow which means an even longer delay. They say he's in remission so delays are ok but has anyone had a long delay and been ok when treatment restarted? Or even had to stop after 4 cycles instead of 6? They are also dropping the Brentuximab due to peripheral neuropathy.

Hi Worrymum sorry to hear about the delays that your son is having…… unfortunately it happens a lot and even although on paper there looks like a set rhythm to be followed there is flexibility in it.
I have a different types of Lymphoma and treatments and experienced 2 one week delays out of my 6 cycles….. over the years I have been volunteering on this community and on the various Lymphoma Action…… Support Platforms… I have talked to many people on the same treatment pathway who have had 2 to 4 weeks delay and it made no difference to outcomes.
