Completed my 2nd cycle last week, but my consultant decided to drop the bleomycin as my lung function test results weren't great, and there is a risk of it causing long-term damage. I was starting to feel a lot better prior to this, and I am now feeling very unwell. Almost as bad as before I started the Chemo. Symptoms of hypersensitive skin, shaking, aches and pains, no energy, dizziness and unsteady on my feet. Also shortness of breath (I can barely walk up stairs without needing my inhaler). My tinnitus is also really loud just now

I was expecting some kind of cumulative effect from the Chemo, but not a sudden knock back like this, and was so bad this morning I had to rush in to the oncology department for blood tests and chest xray. They all came back OK, so why do I feel so crap?!

I'm seeing my consultant next week, and have a PET scan this Friday, so we'll see if the ABVD is actually working or not

Just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this after the 2nd cycle?

....and there's me thinking a couple of weeks ago that this is all going great so far! Silly me!

  • Hi again …. oh the unexpected twists and turns of treatments. It’s a very fine balance between getting the most out of the treatments but not resulting in long term post treatment ‘left overs’

We could line up 10 people on the same treatment with the same presentation and we would get 10 totally different journeys….. rest up and look for tomorrow to be a better day.
