Hi everyone,

I just joined as a "member"  but I have actually been reading your posts for awhile.

I was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma stage 2 A last July. I was only 25 at the time, and I did 4 rounds (8 treatments) and halfway through I was in remission but continued with the rest of my treatments.

It's closing in on a year since finishing chemo! I had a PET scan last month and it said there was even more improvement than the last. But, still I worry about relapse.

Any advice or experience after a year or so of treatment? My doctor says it's unlikely it will come back, and my husband and I would love to start trying for a family.

  • Hello,

so glad your end of treatment PET showed improvement. I know it’s hard to believe that it won’t come back, but this is a stage you need to think positively. Even if it should return there are treatments, and the encouraging fact your scan was even better than the midway one is positive.

I won’t say ‘ignore’ any past possible symptoms but the longer you go without any, the better.

Moving forwards is hard, but it might help you to google Dr Peter Harvey’s paper ‘After the treatment finishes, then what’ as it really does spell out the stage you’re at, and gives explanations of how and why, and gives hints of how to go on from here.

    Sending hugs xxx
