Hi there. I haven't been here for a while having completed ABVD over the winter and radio back in the spring. The treatment really knackered me and I felt I had aged 20 years but I have come back to full strength and am feeling great now. The only issue I have are recurring and quite severe styes in my eyes. Never had them before, and I wonder if it might be related to eyelash regrowth? I have stopped wearing eye make up but this hasn't helped. No urgency getting back to this but if anyone has any experience to share I'd appreciate it. All best to you all. I must say it feels strange reading other's questions and worries now that I am - for now - on the other side of it. I have found myself dissociating from what I went through so reading your posts have given me some good pause for thought. This forum was a lifeline when I was in the thick of it. Thank you!
Hi, yes treatments like ABVD will knock the stuffing out from you and as a result the recovery is much longer than you would hope.
My type of Lymphoma and treatment journey was rather different but I did suffer a lot with eye inflammation and a number of conjunctivitis episodes during the first few years post treatment.
Never did get a clear answer from my team “..... your bodies immune system has lots of fights going on at the moment - this will pass” and yes it did.
I was sent for an eye test 6 months after my final treatment as I had radiotherapy very close to my right eye. Yes my prescription had changed but my eyes were ok (was given 50/50 that my sight would be effected..... that was mid 2016.
I just had my eyes done again 3 weeks back (rather weird experience being the only person in a massive shop) and my prescription had went back to what is was before my main treatment started in mid 2013......wish I still had my old specs
Hi,
yes it’s possible it’s because your lashes are still growing back; but try regular warm salty water bathing; wipe from inside by your nose to outer corner with one bit of cotton wool dipped into the water, and discard, then the other eye and repeat. You might allow it to dry on its own or wipe with a dry cotton wool ball (the same way as wiping tiny baby’s eyes) That might help. (Salty water is an amazing cleanser) If it doesn’t resolve soon ask your pharmacist as they may well have some ointment to try? Or ask your specialist nurse, they’ve probably met this before and have ideas to try.
Hugs xxx
