Hello everyone
So, it's day 6 (post Cycle one treatment 2), and up until this morning, not even a strand of hair I found on my pillow. I've got thick long locks that I wondered might just thin through 3 cycles, - then just one shower this morning - a massive (and I do mean massive lol) clump of hair came out in the shower. It just kept coming out. I'm also receding at the top sides.
My friend says the clump looks "like a stray guinnea pig" which had me in fits of nervous laughter. When I was first told the hair would probably go it was of course a bit of a shock, yet I've happily made the decision to buzz cut my hair tomorrow morning. I also have some cute "paperboy" caps at the ready that cover the whole head (including the ears).
I have plenty of booklets on hair loss and wigs etc. I just thought asking in a forum from people with personal experiences was the way to go! My questions are: what do you find helps with the tingling / itching? and are there any creams you might recommend for when you're left completely without hair? I have a big pot of E45 that I use for most things but maybe some of you veterans have other ideas
Thanks in advance XX
Hey Moomy, how are you? Thank you for that suggestion!
So hubby lobbed the locks off yesterday as a second clump came out the same day I feel like a small boy lol. Actually very liberating. Small price to pay for having your life saved huh.
I hope you're having a lovely week x x x
Yeah bugger off lymphoma!! ha ha. I wouldn't say I've been distressed with the hair loss. More perplexed and weirded out by it. It's just strange. I think I will probably go completely bald but who knows. Have already made jokes with my students that they might be getting Gollum teaching one day! It's all the other symptoms I hate, day 8 now and I felt really queasy all day. Cleaned the bedroom and did the washing up then suddenly felt completely winded so went back to bed. It really is a roller coaster. How is your daughter doing now? All the best, x x x
Hi,
she’s doing well but still needs immunoglobulin, which she gives herself weekly, got used to doing it now I think, safer than going into hospital every 3 weeks, plus she doesn’t then get the big dose headache! Otherwise you’d never know she was ill, certainly not a long illness with a resistant lymphoma! She was one of the (fortunately very few) who didn’t get sorted early on in her illness.
I stick around as I’ve still got 3 years to go till my treatment finishes, plus I’m going to be swapping meds in a few months.
hugs xxx
Moomy
