Temperature as a symptom?

Hi everyone, it’s been a while since I’ve been on here. I was diagnosed with HL last year and completed ABVD teatime ent August 2019, with a PET scan confirming no active cancer in October 2019.
I’ve had check ins with my consultant every 8 weeks since then and everything looking good. I’ve been shielding with my two young kids since March.

The last few weeks I’ve noticed my temp has been slightly elevated from normal - fluctuating around 37.5 and I’ve started to feel a bit short of breath and some chest pain (the latter two symptoms I originally had)

The last few days my temp has been going up to 37.8/37.9 and when it’s up at feel awful, can barely move without getting short of breath and chest pain. I’ve been drinking plenty of fluids and trying to rest. I’ve also been extremely fatigued and struggle to get up in the morning.

I wanted to ask if anyone has had a raised temperature as a symptom of HL and how this symptom acted? I.e. was temp consistently you, or did it fluctuate?

I’m considering getting a covid test just to check that also, as the symptoms are similar. However, as I’ve been shielding and very vigilant with washing hands etc I’d be surprised if it’s that.

Any comments and thoughts welcomed

Thanks Kairen x

  • Hi Kairen , good to hear from you but sorry to hear about your temperatures.

My main question is have you checked this out with your team or GP if not - you do need to do it.

I would lean towards this being an infection marker and needs to be checked.

Our employees have their temperature checked everyday and if it’s 37.5 and above they have to call 111 for advise so I would call your team to check.

hope it’s nothing out of the ordinary, please do let us know....
