Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and I also have in toe a 16 month old. Is there anyone else in a similar position or have any tips on fighting cancer with a baby? Thanks
Hi, and welcome to a place nobody wants to be. So sorry you’re facing all this with a youngster.
I will tag HopefulMummy123 as she was actually pregnant when diagnosed, hopefully she will see this or get an email if she logs on.
I guess anyone’s advice will be to rest as and when you can, drink lots of water (chemo drugs are toxic, they need to be, and so to some extent are dying cancer cells, water will help flush everything through and help protect your liver and kidneys)
Stay safe and keep strong mentally although it’s a tough time you will get through it.
When you’ve time, do pop a few lines into your profile, it helps anyone answering you to know what you’re facing; doesn’t have to be long (mine is as our lass went through lots to get where she is today, and then I too got cancer!) To do it, click on your user name, go to where it says edit my profile, type away, when you’ve finished, click save! Job done! Most of our profiles can be found by clicking on our user names....

Hi Jltoomey!
I was in quite similar situation - being diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma when my baby was 6 months old.
There were tears and depression because of giving up breastfeeding, but that was what I needed to do. Also there were hard moments when I was suffering from chemo side effects and baby needed attention, but thanks to my family that helped.
Hopefully you will tolerate chemo well! Stay strong and wish you to fight this disease and get into long lasting remission!
Hi Jltoomey (and other mums with Hodgkin's),
I was diagnosed in Jan 2020 with a 2 year old and a 3 month old. I had a positive PET after two cycles of ABVD and am now on Brentuximab Vedotin plus Bendamustine. Not sure I can tell if it's working (first dose about 10 days ago). Anyway, going through all of this with little ones is really hard. It seems they need more than I have to give. So I let them watch TV a little more than I usually would and eat more snacks than usual. My hope is I will get better and this is only a season of difficulty.
I wish you all the best on your journey,
Holly
