Hi everyone, just want to express how dissapointment i was, in what happen to my daughter. Aug 2017, she was diagnosed eith stage 2 Classical Hodgkin Lymphoma, and 2018 , she’s in remission, my daughter is a medical intern that time 2017, so she needs to stop her internship and start her chemo, with the grace of God she’s in remission, and start her internship july of August, my daughter is so smart, she finished her internship june 2019, took the Physicain Lycensure Exam and passed with an average of 86.43, everyone is amazed with her average, so she started apply for residency, she wants to be an OncoDerma, she ace the exam and congratulate her and now interview, the first thing the 10 panels of doctors interviewing her is how is her health, somebody maybe told the doctor about her last condition, my daughter said she’s fine, then they asked her about her hodgkin lymphoma, She said her Onco allow her now to work, they did not hire her even she’s now in remmision, they even congratulate her because of her high grades, by the way she’s also a nurse, this is a form of discrimination! I sawmy daughter crying, because they reject her because she had hodgkin lymphoma, this is happend in asian country, so i told my daughter, to go in USA and do clinical roatation so this will add more for her resume. So sad for my daughter...
Hi and welcome to the Macmillan Online Community but always sorry to see the reasons behind folks finding us.
Well done to your daughter in getting through her treatment and completing her studies, you must be a very proud mum.
It is unfair that her medical history has been used as a reason not to get employment. Some countries unfortunately will just do this.
Yes, she may need to broaden her horizons and look at other opportunities, it’s a big world with lots of doors to push open.
I do hope that she can find somewhere to use her training and make a difference.
((hugs))
Thank you so much, your reply is such a big help for me. God bless you always
