Hi all
Had a call from the dietitian today, was due to see them next Thursday after seeing the oncologist but that appointment has been changed to Tuesday so they aren’t available. Anyway, they discussed having the PEG removed and I asked the question how are they going to do it, wish I hadn’t and they just pull it out, no pain relief just a tug and hole will close up after a couple of hours so really looking forward to that.
I agree with Old Biker. In my experience, the PEG removal was over in less than a minute and pretty much a non event
nothing to it.. they give a quick pull, and it pops like a cork, and they cover the wound.. job done.

I had the opposite, again without pain relief, but no problem or feeling. Cut it off and push it in to be passed out normally. That was because of the type of PEG stopper used. It was a solid one rather than a soft inflatable one. Over in a second and no sensation. Healed up really well.
Thanks all, that puts my mind at rest a bit.
