Its just the gift thats keep giving isn't it??? HH has developed a little rash on his face, its not awful but it is noticeable, like red freckles across cheeks, nose and forehead....seemed to start roughly same time as the Lymphedema...any one else had this, it seems to fade in and out too, some times much more noticeable than others. Any reason to NOT treat it as yet another minor inconvenience??
Did any of the radiation hit your husband’ nose or cheeks? You’d know because they would have got red during treatment.
I think we have a tendency to overdo the moisturising after RT when it’s not so necessary. What, if anything, is he applying to his face?

No,the mask kept it away from that area, and all he puts on his face is the usual daily spf 15 m'rizer and also, on the neck area, pure aloe vera which we get fresh here. Skin on his neck now looks pretty good and normal.
Hi there. Im just about to start week 6 of my treatment. My last week. The last few days my throat has felt rough and around my collar bones snd behind my ears and just my chin weirdly has a lumpy red rash. I religiously slather on the flamigel. And H&N nurses said get E45 as the flamigel isn't moisturising enough.
Thought I was going to get away with the skin problem as the radiotherapy nurses kept saying how good my skin looked.
I've also developed swelling along the jaw line and lower cheeks where my salivary glands are. Again thats just over the last few days.
I suppose everyone's different as it depends upon strength of radiotherapy given think im 65 GY.
My skin is pretty good to start off with, so that also helps, suppose if you've dry skin originally then it'll hit you quicker

Mine was the same. I am fair but do tan ( or did when it was fashionable) so my neck held together till the last week, then it did get flakey but never actually broke open.
How’s your eating holding up, Tracy?

Good luck, and enjoy every good day you have, this is a weird, long and bumpy road. xx
Hi Dani
Im on the ensures now have been for a few weeks. Find if I try to even sip water it sets me off coughing.
Must admit though im dying to get my teeth into something nice. My weights stabilised. And funnily my nausea has subsided. Especially after my peg feed balloon burst and I had to have it replaced, with a different (balloon type). It seems to be a bit better. Unless thats just pure coincidence.
