Immunotherapy Fatigue

Hi,

My partner is undergoing immunotherapy at the moment for secondary head and neck cancer in his bones. He's just had his 2nd dose which is being given on a 3 weekly basis. He's started feeling more fatigued and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same and if so, does it get better as treatment continues and or how do you manage it?

Many thanks.

  • Hi Other half, I can't help you with your question unfortunately, but hopefully my post will put yours back up the top. There are many people on here who have had or having Immunotherapy, hopefully one or more of them will come along and give you some advice.

    Ray.

  • Hi Ray,

Thank you for that...wasn't sure if anyone had had immunotherapy as hadn't had any response! Blush

  • I have definitely seen posts on here about immunotherapy, I hope someone can give you some advice.

  • Hi lm on my 4th cycle of Immunotherapy  I have stage 4 kidney Cancer, with secondary Liver and Lung  mets, and yes  does cause  fatigue. also have it on a 3 weekly basis, also I get very short of breath, this seems to be a common side effect of the treatment, some days are better than others. I have learnt now to take things a bit slower.

hope this helps a little Maria

  • Hi Maria,

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my query. My partner like you has some days better than others. He's also noticed that his taste has changed which is a blow as he was just begining to enjoy food again and getting more taste back! His appetite has decreased again and losing weight again which is a concern. He does have protein shakes on prescription which he drinks if he's not had much to eat during the day. Sending you a virtual hug as you are dealing with alot too. Susan
