Hello all , it’s been a while lol . Just thought I’d log in and give you all an update on my recovery. Well it’s been quite good tbh , fit and well and back to work like nothings happened , just the usual niggly stuff to deal with like extra water when eating and that pesky cramping of the neck a few times a day ( comes as quick as it goes ) .  I’m currently every 4 months at the hospital for the camera down for my specialist to have a nosy , I complain more about the hospital parking more than the endoscopy now tbh.
Hope all are as well as can be expected and for those just starting down this path I can say the info and support from this place was fantastic.

  • Well done Gary, I'm 2 years out, just back from Greece, life goes on, 6 monthly reviews now.

  • Lovely update, Gary. So good when folk who have recovered well come back to tell us. Bravo.

  • Brilliant. Iam 3 years too. All best for the future.

  • That's just wonderful

I am 7 months post treatment  but unfortunately my throat has become so painful and exceptionally dry and I am beginning to wonder if I am.going to be left like this permanently.  So depressed

Has the pain settled after that biopsy you had?

What are you doing to try to ameliorate the dryness? Seven months is actually still fairly early. I was told that recovery would take a year with improvements continuing till two.

Have you tried a water spray which moistens a little better than sipping water. Can you chew gum? Not only does the gum get saliva flowing but it makes you swallow more. Swallow exercises? Are you still doing those to help stop fibrosis? I was told that these are for life.

It goes on and on...doesn't it?
